IPTV in Finland

Finland runs one hour ahead of the rest of the Nordics, and a large share of homes use mobile broadband instead of a fixed line. Both affect IPTV: the guide has to show Finnish times, and the stream has to cope with a 4G or 5G connection.

Sport in Finland

Ice hockey is the national sport, and the World Championship in spring is the biggest TV event of the year. Rally, Formula 1, football, pesäpallo and winter sports follow. With catch-up, a late North American hockey game can wait until breakfast.

Your connection

Unlimited 4G and 5G home broadband is common in Finland and handles Full HD comfortably. Place the router by a window facing the nearest mast, and connect the TV box by cable to the router if you can. 4K needs a steady 25 Mbit/s or more.

Time zone and programme guide

Finland uses EET (UTC+2), EEST (UTC+3) in summer. The programme guide reads the time zone from your TV or streaming device, so check it is set to Suomi before your first evening. If a programme appears to start an hour early or late, that setting is almost always why.

IPTV in Finland: questions

Does IPTV work on Finnish 4G or 5G home broadband?

Yes. An unlimited 4G or 5G plan with a steady 15 Mbit/s or more carries Full HD without trouble. For 4K, check that your speed stays above 25 Mbit/s in the evening.

Is the programme guide in Finnish time?

The guide follows your device’s time zone. Set the TV or box to Finnish time (EET) and every programme shows the correct local start time.

Can I use IPTV Nordic with Elisa, DNA or Telia?

Yes. IPTV Nordic works with every internet provider in Finland, on fixed or mobile broadband.
